Confessions of a Scam Victim

OK, I'll admit, it was partly my fault. I fell for one of those "make thousands of dollars a weeek" schemes that seem to be popping up everywhere on the Internet. Being a college student, the promise of a lot of money for a little work was too good to pass up. Besides, here was a real guy who explained everything up front, unlike many of these schemes. Or so I thought.
Alan Humphreys had this Stealth Money Maker that was supposed to generate unlimited income. He provided the website and all the tools needed to succeed. My job, he explained, was to advertise this wonderful opportunity all over the Internet. That didn't seem too hard. After all, Alan provided all the ads and banners, and there are tons of sites that offer free advertising. Plus I could get over $1000.00 worth of free ebooks to download and do whatever I wanted with, even resell them. The income potential was only limited by the ammount of advertising I did, and with summer break coming up I could spend a lot of time at it. Not a bad deal for less than $80.00, right?
What Alan Humphreys neglected to say was that his Stealth Money Making System was a fly-by-night operation that didn't even last long enough for me to make one sale. I sent him my money, and got my own lersonal page with all the download links, and a ton of ads, banners, and other advertising tricks. I spent about two weeks placing ads, etc. Then one day when I went to download some ebooks (there were too many to download at one time), the website was no longer available! I waited and checked every day, hoping that it was only temporarily down for maintenance. Finally, however, I knew I had been duped, especially when my emails to Alan went unanswered. (And I thought it was so nice of him to provide an email address so I could contact him with any problems).
Well, at least I learned my lesson. No more of theses "get your hopes up for nothing" sites for me. I'm sure "Alan Humphreys" is only a fake name, and whatever scam artist was behind the Stealth Money Maker system will probalby resurface with a different name and a new scam, if he hasn't already, but he'll never get me again. Like Gomer said in "Gomer Pyle: USMC" - "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me." I'll stick with GPT's and surveys. I've actually made money with those, and they're quite addictive. In fact, I even made a website describing some of the sites I've had success with: www.cashforuonline.com
